Mariam is a freelance writer, editor and teacher from Lahore, Pakistan, with work experience in the development sector. She has a Master’s in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway, University of London. Her articles and reviews have appeared or are forthcoming in various publications, such as Litro Magazine, Book Riot, Bustle, and The Missing Slate, and her fiction in Bedford Square. Like many of you, she is currently working on at least one novel.

She is also the founder of The Writing Room, which offers creative writing workshops for aspiring writers of all ages and at all stages of their writing journeys. She has previously developed and conducted a creative writing workshop for undergraduate students at the National College of Arts in Lahore.
