Airport Latrines

This is a photo essay based on airports mentioned in Rakhshan Rizwan’s poem Airport Latrines which will be featured in the print edition of Papercuts Volume 13. Rizwan touches on many aspects of “The Metropolis” in her poem: the hierarchy within society, the impersonal nature of cities, the contrast between the faceless traveler and the disenchanted native, but most importantly she paints the flavors of cities in broad strokes, transforming each airport into a unique metropolis.
