Kiran Bashir Ahmad is at home in webs – from helping people sort out tangled ones, to spinning some of her own, her sprightly fingers continually complement her busy mind and sunny temperament. A full time educationist and clinical psychologist by profession; a part time writer, social worker and trainer by passion, she believes in life, love, ‘pay it forward’ and the sublime power of good food. Currently she is enrolled as a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology. She was the first prize winner of the English Speaking Union of Pakistan’s All Karachi Poetry Writing Competition in 1999 and won her way into IBelong, a national story writing competition and chain organized by the British Council in 2004. Read from her work on her blog, tweet at @kiranba and dive into her fantasies in Neither Night nor Day – 13 stories by women writers from Pakistan (HarperCollins, India); and After the Rain – a collection of short stories from the SAARC region (MHA Publications, Pakistan). |
