It is that time of year again! When the Karachi breeze rifles the canopy under which hundreds throng to share their love of one thing: the word. The word brings together the arts and culture obsessed milieu of the city and speakers from around the globe for a weekend jam-packed with book launches, musical performances and some food for the brain. Okay, we may never reach Ayesha Siddiqua levels of moderator-greatness (KLF 2012) but, hey we’re not Karachi, You’re Killing Me!-cynical yet about the sixth Karachi Literature Festival. That is because The Desi Writers’ Lounge is back and better than ever.
Our team has been hard at work putting together games, merchandise and lots more. Think you know your literature? Think you can perform a sonnet or a ghazal? Come and try your luck at the DWL stall at KLF.
Also, if you have ticked no to the following question, we have done you a solid with these lovely mugs so pick one up. You know you want to.
When: 6, 7 and 8 February
Where: Beach Luxury Hotel, Karachi
Cost: Free (you have no reason not to come)
For the full festival deets here’s the schedule (sigh, someday Zadie Smith will grace our great city as she was rumored to last year). Tweet at us with the hashtag #DWLatKLF! We’d love to chat and see your photos.
Nice!
Include me in your email list for the literary programmes being a performer of poetry, ghazals and songs of my own written and compsosed.
